Implementing a CRM in your company can provide significant advantages. However, there are myths that often generate fear when making the decision to install this system. In order to fully appreciate all the benefits that CRM brings we must discard the following:
- CRM is just a software tool. False! CRM is not achieved by just purchasing and installing software. It is the process of carefully managing the details of each customer or prospect, and all relevant touchpoints in order to maximize their engagement and loyalty.
- CRM is costly. False! Fortunately today there are many CRM solution options. Powerful, low-cost and quick approaches may be implemented in very little time.
- CRM requires many hours of training. False! Again, there are many efficient, effective and customizable options for training, user adoption and knowledge transfer. A CRM system should be an enabler, helping and assisting, not a burden.
- CRM is time-consuming. False! CRM helps organize data and make the best use of this information to prioritize leads and prospects for a higher possibility of sales success.
- CRM is for large businesses with many customers. False! All companies, big or small, need customer loyalty. Companies with fewer customers are at greater risk due to the loss of a single customer.
- CRM is exclusively for customer service. False! A Customer Relationship Management tool will help you make the most out of your interactions with your customers, but an effective CRM will allow other departments to maximize their efforts too. Your sales team can achieve much more in less time with these resources. Your marketing team can discover new business opportunities, generating additional revenue.
- CRM is not right for my company. False! Implementing a CRM system from the inception of operations of any business, develops the habit of customer loyalty and business management based on best practices.
- CRM means automatic sales. False! CRM optimizes business processes, which may lead to new sales. The most successful CRM solution is one that provides valuable, timely information and maximizes the efforts of users. It should also engage and delight the customer building trust and resulting in more sales and customer loyalty.
